『Albumblätter（アルバムの綴り）Op.124』は、ロベルト・シューマンが1854年に出版した、全20曲から成るピアノ小品集です。
この自筆譜は、その第16曲《Schlummerlied（シュルマーリート）》。
ドイツ語で「眠りの歌」あるいは「子守歌」を意味します。

この曲は1841年、シューマンの長女マリーが誕生した年に書かれました。
穏やかに揺れる伴奏の上に、静かで穏やかな旋律がそっと置かれています。
当時のシューマンの心境を正確に知ることはできませんが、この曲には、穏やかな家庭のぬくもりや、安堵のようなものが静かに満ち溢れ、滲んでいるように感じられます。

なお、この曲集にはもう一つ子守歌があります。
曲番と作曲年は前後しますが、第6曲《Wiegenliedchen（ヴィーゲンリートヒェン／小さな子守歌）》は、1843年、次女エリーゼ誕生の年に作曲されました。
シューマンはしばしば激しい内面世界を語られる作曲家ですが、その一方で、このような小さく親密な作品も数多く残しています。


“Albumblätter” (“Album Leaves”), Op. 124, is a collection of twenty short piano pieces published by Robert Schumann in 1854.

This autograph manuscript is from No. 16, Schlummerlied (“Slumber Song” or “Lullaby”).

The piece was composed in 1841, the year Schumann’s eldest daughter Marie was born.
Above a gently rocking accompaniment, a quiet and tender melody is softly placed.

It is impossible to know Schumann’s state of mind with certainty, yet this music seems to carry something of the warmth of a peaceful home and a sense of quiet reassurance.

This collection also contains another lullaby.
Although the numbering and dates appear out of sequence, No. 6, Wiegenliedchen (“Little Lullaby”), was composed in 1843, the year his second daughter Elise was born.

Schumann is often remembered for the intensity of his inner world, yet he also left behind many works of remarkable intimacy and tenderness such as this.
