ノルウェーの作曲家グリーグが1886年に作曲した《抒情小品集》第3集 Op.43の第1曲《蝶々（Sommerfugl / Butterfly）》。これと同一の楽曲でありながら、《Windingiana（Albumblad）》という特別なタイトルが付されたこの自筆譜は、出版用楽譜とは別に、デンマークの著名な音楽家一族ハルトマン家につながるクララ・ヴィンディング（Clara Winding）へ贈られた献呈譜です。

譜面に記された『Windingiana』というタイトルは、クララの姓（Winding）に由来する造語です。「〜iana」という語尾は、音楽や文学において人物名などに関連するものを表す際に用いられる形式で、19世紀には人物への敬意や関わりを示す名称として用いられる例もありました。この自筆譜がクララにちなんだ特別な一葉として贈られたことを示しています。

“Sommerfugl” (Butterfly), the first piece of *Lyric Pieces*, Book III, Op. 43, was composed by the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg in 1886. Although this manuscript contains the same musical work, it bears the special title “Windingiana (Albumblad).” Unlike the published edition, this autograph manuscript was prepared as a presentation manuscript and was given to Clara Winding, who was connected to the Hartmann family, one of Denmark’s distinguished musical families.

The title “Windingiana” written on the manuscript is derived from Clara’s surname, Winding. The suffix “-iana” has often been used in music and literature to indicate something associated with a particular person, and in the 19th century it was sometimes employed as a form of expression showing respect or connection. This title suggests that the manuscript was created as a special tribute associated with Clara.

“Sommerfugl” (Butterfly) is a delicate and graceful miniature whose melody evokes the image of a butterfly carried lightly upon the wind.
